Scope of the Position

The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for performing Human Resources related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources Manager, Corporate Human Resources staff, and plant supervisors and managers. The Human Resources Coordinator has responsibility for non-exempt recruiting and onboarding. The Human Resources Coordinator works to ensure positive employee relations, and is also involved in training, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law.


  • Conduct/coordinate new hire orientations. Prepare training room, assign clock numbers, order supplies, create employee files, update binders, enter training,  file all documentation, take pictures of new hires, enroll in time clock, make folders, print pictures “tab” for organization board, pass out parking permits, order badges, etc.
  • Benefit Enrollment and Maintain Changes – enroll benefit selections for each new hire on appropriate web pages, and maintain changes during qualifying events and open enrollments. Educate employees on benefit programs upon hire and during open enrollments.
  • Maintain Attendance Records and Warnings – use RPM to track attendance occurrences, reduce points with proper documentation, and issue/track warnings for attendance. Also track workmanship warnings in RPM after issued by other members of management.
  • Review all RPM related payroll matters providing verified payroll information to Payroll Dept. weekly.
  • Enter/file all COS. Report and track all training, 90-day reviews and competency sheets as a result of COS.
  • Track and communicate 90-day reviews and competency sheets that are due until complete.
  • Terminations – mail term letters and COBRA information to past employees, send department notifications, pull employee files to prepare for long-term storage, perform exit surveys.
  • Manage FMLA and PLOA within FMLA and company LOA guidelines
  • Employment verifications – verify past employment and present employment to loan companies and businesses for hiring purposes.
  • Conduct needs assessments regarding the Annual Training Plan and the Training Matrix. Responsible for the completion of training, entering into RPM and filing.  Schedule training accordingly.
  • Update Training Matrix for all new hires, transfers and terminations.
  • Random’s – run random drug screen lists for all Indiana facilities.
  • Service Award Administration
  • Distribute and review 45-90-hourly performance evaluations.
  • Conduct investigations as required.
  • Answer inquiries from employees and third parties.
  • Participates in audits as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or 3-4 years of related field (Degree preferred but not required)
  • HR Certification or PHR 
  • Minimum of 2 years administrative or generalist experience in HR and benefit administration
  • Bilingual - both English and Spanish 
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and HRIS Systems
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills: Interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Must be extremely organized, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Physically able to to lift 25-35lbs.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
