Overview

Scope of the Position

The Process Engineer supports the continuous improvement of existing manufacturing assets through the use of sound engineering principles and analytical data to drive results on the shop floor.  They will work extensively with machine operators, process specialists, and other engineers to define and implement improvement activities aimed at achieving quality production output.  The Process Engineer is expected to become a subject matter expert with the ability to train those below the position. 

 

One opening is on Afternoon Shift and the other is on Midnight Shift. 

Responsibilities

  • Follow and maintain TS16949/ISO14001 policies, procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Monitor and maintain injection molding machine parameters, able to adjust machine to maintain quality parts.
  • Able to program robots.
  • Meeting/exceeding documented safety, quality and production goals.
  • Able to be effective in a fast paced environment.
  • Provide technical and managerial assistance to Molding Supervisors and Manager.

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • At least 5 years experience in processing injection molding, automotive-based products preferred.
  • Self motivated with good attendance.
  • Troubleshooting of molding process and resin capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of molding machine principles and functions, and plastic resins and their various processing differences.
  • Knowledge of basic mold design and function; some knowledge of tooling.
  • Ability to recognize and correct molding problems of an elusive and/or deceptive nature.
  • Must be able to work any shift and overtime.
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, and AS400.

  • Automotive manufacturing experience a plus.
