Scope of the Position

Flex-N-Gate is looking to hire an experienced Instructional Designer capable of developing training content in text, video, and possibly CBTs (Computer-Based Training) for our procurement system (Ivalua).


  • Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs
  • Plan, design and develop the following for our procurement system (Ivalua)
  • Training Scripts & Videos
  • Work Instructions / Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Computer-Based Training (CBT) courses
  • Help Documentation
  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
  • Maintain project documentation
  • Communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form
  • Update and improve one’s knowledge, skills and attitudes pertaining to instructional design and related fields
  • Review output from training to ensure courses are addressing defined learning objectives
  • Assist with implementation of procurement system- internal and external training



  • Strong background in training development.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Adobe E-Learning Suite preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Must have extensive practical knowledge of process documentation tools and techniques (i.e. Activity Flows, Flow Charts, Visio, Process Modeler, etc.). BlueWorksLive a plus
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time.
